The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology (MBCET), Kuttikkanam, successfully organized a three-day Training Programme for Robotics Lab (AIT304) at the AI Lab. The workshop was conducted on 9th January 2026, 10th January 2026, and 24th January 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the objective of enhancing practical knowledge and hands-on skills in robotics for faculty and students associated with the AI program. The sessions were led by industry experts Mr. Jyothish Chandran G, Managing Partner, Megasolutions, Kottayam, and Mr. Nishanth P R, Partner, Megasolutions, Kottayam. The speakers shared valuable insights into robotics systems, lab-oriented experimentation, and real-world applications aligned with the Robotics Lab curriculum (AIT304). The training programme provided participants with exposure to practical implementation, hardware interfacing, and emerging trends in robotics, thereby strengthening the teaching–learning process and industry relevance of the AI curriculum. The initiative reflects the department’s continuous efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Kuttikkanam, successfully inaugurated the Programming Club on 15th December 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Mini Auditorium. The inaugural function was graced by Mr. Aditya Nair, Senior Data Scientist, Capgemini (US), as the Chief Guest. The event marked the beginning of a student-driven initiative aimed at enhancing coding skills, logical thinking, and collaborative learning among students. The inauguration laid a strong foundation for fostering a vibrant programming culture within the department.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Kuttikkanam, organized a hands-on workshop on Mobile App Development using Flutter and Dart on 6th December 2025 at the PTA Seminar Hall for S4 Stutends. The session was led by Mr. Anix K Binoj, Co-Founder of Antolanz Pvt. Ltd, who guided students through practical aspects of mobile application development using Flutter and Dart. The interactive workshop provided students with hands-on experience in building cross-platform mobile applications and understanding modern app development practices. The program was well received by students and successfully enhanced their practical skills in mobile application development.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Kuttikkanam, organized a One-Day Add-On Course on “Python Implementation in AI” for students to enhance their practical skills in artificial intelligence. Python Implementation in AI was conducted on 6th December for S6 CSE–AI students at S6 Classroom, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The session focused on enhancing students’ practical understanding of Python programming for artificial intelligence applications through interactive discussions and hands-on learning.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence), Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Kuttikkanam, organized a Technical Invited Talk on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agentic AI on 4th December 2025 at the PTA Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by Mr. Alexy M Binu, Founder & CEO of Aethersphere Ecosystem, Bengaluru, who provided valuable insights into the working of LLMs, the rise of Agentic AI, and their real-world industry applications. A hands-on demonstration on building a simple AI chatbot using Hugging Face models in Google Colab was also conducted, enabling students to gain practical exposure to modern AI tools. The interactive session successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry practices, inspiring students to explore advanced AI technologies and research opportunities.

The Department of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology (MBCCET), Peermade, successfully organized a 24-hour hackathon titled “Gen 201 – Creating the Next Generation” on October 10 and 11, 2025. The event was conducted as an All-Kerala level competition for Plus One and Plus Two students from government and government-aided higher secondary schools across the state. The hackathon aimed to encourage innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among young students while introducing them to Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies.
The event began with registration and refreshments at 8:00 AM, followed by the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM. The ceremony opened with a prayer song by Selma Anna Saju, and the welcome address was delivered by Prof. Sobin Mathew. The Presidential Address was given by Director Ommen Mammen, and the hackathon was officially inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Gopi Krishnan, a technology influencer and lifestyle vlogger. The event was also attended by Dr. V. I. George, Principal, and Dr. K. T. Ommen Tharakan, Dean. Noel Biju delivered the vote of thanks, and an inspiring interactive session with the chief guest motivated the participants.
The hackathon commenced at 11:00 AM with enthusiastic participation from students presenting innovative ideas and working collaboratively. After the first evaluation phase, the Top 30 teams were selected to continue in the competition. A campus tour and a vibrant college band performance added energy and relaxation during the intense 24-hour event. The second evaluation phase held around 4:00 AM shortlisted the Top 10 teams for the final round. The final presentations were conducted between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, where the top three teams were selected by judges Dr. Shailesh Shevan, Akhil, and Adhithyan V Nair.
The felicitation ceremony was held after lunch, with Prof. Annie Chacko delivering the welcome speech. Dr. Shailesh Shevan gave the Presidential Address, and Guinness World Record holder Mr. Sunil Joseph delivered the felicitation address. Dr. Akhil provided external expert feedback to the participants. Medals were awarded to the Top 10 teams, and the total prize pool of ₹50,000 was distributed among the winners. Vidyodaya School, Ernakulam secured the first prize of ₹25,000, while Ansar English School, Perumbavoor won the second prize of ₹15,000 and Badani Central School, Alappuzha secured the third prize of ₹10,000. The event concluded successfully, inspiring young minds to explore future opportunities in technology and innovation.

The sessions were held daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The course was led by Mr. Safad Ismail, a part-time AI & ML Trainer, who provided in-depth training on key concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, model training, evaluation metrics, and real-time AI applications.
Through a combination of theory, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions, students were introduced to essential tools like Python, NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn, with practical exercises focused on real-world datasets. This program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of core AI/ML techniques and their application in industry and research.
The event was a valuable learning experience that helped students build strong foundational knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, Kuttikkanam organized a 5-day Add-On Course on Python and Java for S3 students from July 1st to 5th, 2025. The sessions were conducted daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.The course was handled by Mr. Syamprasad, an experienced Python Developer and Trainer specializing in Java and Python. The training focused on foundational programming concepts, hands-on coding, and real-time application development using both Python and Java. The objective of this course was to strengthen programming skills among second-year students and prepare them for future AI-related coursework and projects. Students gained practical exposure through coding exercises, problem-solving tasks, and interactive sessions, greatly enhancing their programming proficiency.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) organized a Short-Term Training Program on 16th June 2025 onwards, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The focus of the training was on Machine learning & AI Algorithms, aimed at building a strong foundation in programming for students and faculty members.The session was conducted by Ms. V. R. Mansi Mansan, from the R&D Department, Woodenclouds Pvt. Ltd., an expert in software development and AI applications.

The session was held at the PTA Seminar Hall.
The resource person for the event was Mr. Sherin Chacko, Founder of Agent Berlin, who shared valuable insights on the emerging trends, programming paradigms, and future directions in the field of Artificial Intelligence. His talk provided students with an understanding of modern AI development tools, real-world applications, and evolving career opportunities in the AI industry.
